Here's what 45 years in leadership will teach you: most of what we've been told about it is wrong. Not slightly off. Wrong. I wrote a book about it called Leadersh*t. It won an award, which I think means people agreed.

I'm a coach, author, professor, and the founder of FMG Leading. I've worked with everyone from Fortune 500 CEOs to Olympic coaching staffs — the latter of which won six national championships, a fact I mention not to brag but because it still genuinely delights me. I've taught at Boston College and Pepperdine, advised leaders across healthcare, business, and sport, and spent four decades convinced that the best thing you can do for an organization is help the people in it figure out who they actually are.

I'm also a father, a grandfather, and a fisherman.
